OWL at PurdueThe Online Writing Lab (OWL) at Purdue University provides writing resources and instructional material, and information to assist with many writing projects. Teachers and trainers may use this material for in-class and out-of-class instruction.

The writing process includes general academic writing, professional, technical and job search writing. Other related resources are research and citation, grammar and mechanics, ESL, Internet literacy, writing in social science and writing in engineering. The instructional materials include creative writing, teaching writing and tutoring writing.

n addition, users can submit brief, writing-related questions to OWL Mail Tutors, access useful grammar blogs and try the Grammar Mechanics Exercises.

The Writing CenterThe Writing Center provides instructional materials for instructors and students. There are resources of writing skills, writing processes required for different varieties of assignments. The center also provides advice which may apply to the writing assignments. In addition, the center also provides handouts to individual students.
 
Advice on Academic Writing, University of TorontoThis website lists advice columns by category and answers the questions that students often ask about their written assignments. Most were created by writing instructors from the University of Toronto - people who are familiar with the expectations of students from academicians. But there are also links to good advice from other institutions under Further Resources.
 
Dartmouth Writing Program, Dartmouth CollegeDartmouth Writing Program provides step by step material in writing academic paper. It contains an introduction to academic writing, creating topics, research, and development of thesis. In the instructional sections there are organization and structure of writing, revision, logic and argument and grammar and styles. The program also provides advice, search tools and link and writing for art history and English paper, writing about film, music, religious and philosophy in the humanities categories. The social science categories cover writing for sociology and history paper while in science categories it covers on writing biology paper and chemistry paper.

In addition there is a special section for ESL, disabilities and writing for a job and graduate school application.
 
Paradigm Online Writing AssistantParadigm Online Writing Assistant provides guided planning for writing and drafting writing project. There is a search engine to locate subjects and generate ideas through brainstorming, using The Journalists' Questions tool.
