Summary

Clearly, the recent rapid technological development has played a critical role in the delivery and practice of education in general. In this connection, we have studied the various challenges in using educational technology and the implications associated with the use of these educational technologies. Subsequently, we discussed the various potentials of employing ICT in education with focus on, among some, improving quality of education and as preparation to life-long learning. Finally, we identified and described the various parameters for effective use of technology in educational institutions in which we attempted to make a distinction between potential and effectiveness of educational technology.
